Hamptons Beach House Paint Color Consultation

When a friend requested a color consultation for her new beach house, I was elated. My love of the sea is as great as my passion for color.  It was a fun project, and together we created magic.

The architectural design of the house is brilliant.

Upon entering, you are immediately enchanted by the beauty of the boundless sea. Water is everywhere.

Most rooms has a lavish view of the sea.  Spellbinding.

The open plan, combined with continuous water-view windows, makes it feel like you're on a boat!

The wall colors were kept neutral in the main rooms.  The focus is the sea, sky, and scattered sea grass blowing in the wind.

Natural down to earth stone and rich woods anchor the home firmly into the ground.
(So no worries, the house can't float away.)

The wall color for the kitchen, dining, living room, and main hallway is Minced Onion (2145-60) Benjamin Moore.

Keeping these rooms one color emphasizes the open floor plan, and does not disturb the serenity of the views.

Minced Onion is a beautiful color that looks much lighter in the mid day, when the home is drenched with white sunlight.   (These pictures were taken close to the golden sunset)

The den wall color is Limesickle (2145-50) Benjamin Moore.

(Of course the den has its own set of windows looking out to the water, not shown)

Greenwich Paint Color Consultation

I am delighted to be the color consultant for a Builder on several new spec homes in Greenwich CT.  They are exceptional builders with a superb eye for design, and superior workmanship.

Here are some pictures from one of the homes recently completed.

The home's color palette is classic and elegant,  and compliments the warm sophisticated sensibility of the design.  Luxurious mahogany floors flow throughout the house, bringing depth and warmth to the space.

What a beautiful kitchen.  Such livable elegance!

Notice the striking play of light and dark hues that appear throughout the house.

Fine moldings and stately woodwork flow graciously from one room to another.

I love the celestial blue ceiling.  It makes the high empty space feel so special.  And adds just the right amount of whimsy to this distinguished home.

I am passionate about painting a ceiling a color other than white.  It makes the space come alive and be a vital part of the overall design scheme.

Here is a close up of the blue ceiling showing off the majestic crown molding.

Simply stunning!
