My client was particular and wanted her kitchen to look more like furniture than kitchen cabinets. So I designed her dream kitchen and took the drawing to a fine woodworking shop to have them built.
The plus is the homeowner got just what she wanted. The minus is, it took a long time and was expensive.
It was fun to drop into the shop to see the action, as well as convenient to make modifications as the project moved along.
Notice the black and white tile. It is in inlaid into the wood floor, and wraps around the island, defining the kitchen space (its an open plan kitchen/family room), and adding a delightful effect to the circulation path.
